Quick answer

Anime Origins best traits, and why

Beebom's named top picks are Immortal, Ascendant and Overseer (attribution kept — no official tier list exists). Immortal is one per team and rolls at 0.1%; the community-reported pity guarantees it at 1,300 rerolls. Before rerolling anything, check your real odds with the reroll calculator — it dual-computes when sources disagree on a rate.

Best traits for units: match the trait to the job

The game publishes no trait tier list and no per-unit best trait, so the table below maps the effect text onto the job the unit already does — not a meta ranking.

Boss damageYour bossing placementsAscendant · RuptureAscendant is +35% boss damage, +10% damage — it only pays while a boss health bar is on screen. Stride stacks to -24% cooldown, but the stack decays after 5s without attacking — players report some units never reach full stacks because the attack animation stretches the gap.Assuming Stride always beats Nimble: the stack only holds while that unit keeps attacking.
LevelingAny unit while pushing EXPScholar+50% EXP is the largest leveling multiplier in the table — the fastest route through the early level gates that unlock codes and modes.Leaving Scholar slotted after the leveling push is done.
Units that already critCrit ascension tracksA second multiplier: damage, boss or cooldownCrit chance and crit damage stack with the unit's own crit upgrades, so another crit trait buys less than the same reroll spent on a stat the unit does not already have.Head Hunter on a unit whose upgrade path already adds crit; the exact stacking math is not published.

Trait-for-unit pairings are a reading of the effect column above, not a measured ranking. Public trait ranking videos keep correcting their own pairings in the comments, and the stacking math for crit and cooldown traits is not published — confirm a roll in-game before spending another batch of rerolls on the same unit.

Mechanics

How traits attach and reroll

  • • Every unit stores two traits; only one is active at a time.
  • • Rerolling happens at the Trait Reroll NPC — Areas button (right menu) → Trait Reroll → walk to the NPC → select unit → reroll.
  • • Rerolls consume Trait Reroll items, earned from play, quests and codes. No published per-reroll cost.
  • • The old community term "Trait Crystals" does not appear in current sources — the item is Trait Rerolls.

The full step-by-step with farming routes is in the trait reroll guide.

FAQ

Trait questions

What are the best traits in Anime Origins?

Beebom names Immortal, Ascendant and Overseer as the top picks (attributed). Immortal is the ceiling — +200% damage plus income and a base revive — but it is one per team and rolls at 0.1%. Overseer is the realistic Mythic target at 4.1%.

What is the best trait for a specific unit?

No source publishes a verified per-unit table. Public trait ranking videos rank trait-for-unit pairings and their own comment threads keep correcting those lists, so treat any single 'best trait for X' claim as one player's model. Match the trait to the job instead: crit traits for units that already crit, Ascendant for boss damage, Decay for wave damage, Hustler or Looting for income — the fit table on this page maps it.

Is Immortal good on every unit?

Immortal carries the strongest trait text in the table (+200% damage with income and a base revive) but only one unit per team can hold it, so it belongs on the unit you field as the main damage dealer. Every other unit is better served by a Mythic-tier trait that matches its job.

How does trait rerolling work?

Each unit stores two traits with only one active. Open the Areas menu (right side), pick Trait Reroll, walk to the NPC, select your unit and reroll — it consumes Trait Reroll items. The full flow with odds math is in the trait reroll guide.

What is the rarest trait in Anime Origins?

Immortal — Secret tier, 0.1% per roll per community data, one per team, with a community-reported pity at 1,300 rerolls.

Do traits stack with unit ascensions?

Yes — they are separate multipliers. That is why crit-heavy ascension tracks (like Madaro's IV/V) pair best with non-crit traits: you avoid paying rerolls for stats you already own.

Why do some traits show two rates?

Because the public sources disagree. The wiki and Beebom publish slightly different numbers for a few traits; we show both with their sources instead of averaging them into a fake precision. The calculator dual-computes on conflicts too.

Can I move a trait between units?

No documented system moves traits between units — rerolls are per-unit and consume Trait Reroll items. Store the good roll on the unit you plan to keep.

What does the tier probability column mean?

It is the chance any single reroll lands in that rarity tier (community-reported, via PGG): Rare 50%, Epic 30%, Legendary 9%, Mythic 4.05%, Secret 0.1%. Individual trait rates within a tier are listed per row.
