Madaro (Edo Tensei)
bossingmetabeginnerHeaven Splitter hits 500% damage at 3x range; both public tier lists place him at the very top.
Roles instead of letters: launch consensus picks sit alongside verified conflicts and unprofiled Update 1 Re:Zero units. Compare any two candidates side by side or send them directly into the Squad Planner.
Compare Anime Origins units across launch and Update 1 by beginner, farming, bossing, support, and meta roles. Launch consensus picks (Madaro, Valcrad, Cursed Lover, Bon, Bluma) are distinguished from early-signal units and source conflicts like Goju. New Update 1 Re:Zero units (Sobaru & Beti, Rainu Marto, Shali, Emmy, Jolius, Prisla) are tracked as unprofiled until in-match DPS and targeting cones are verified, preventing speculative tier letters. Use the side-by-side comparison or send any unit straight into the Squad Planner.
Placements come from ProGameGuides (Aug 14) and Beebom (Aug 15) — see the full source list.
Unit talk in Anime Origins mixes two different questions. One is where a unit can stand — Ground or Hill. The other is the job it does — income, wave clear, bossing, control, support. "Money units" and "farm units" describe the job: the units that raise the money you have inside a run. "Hill units" and "hybrid units" describe the slot.
The tracked income pair is Bluma and Bon. Bluma turns kills into Training Data and lifts per-wave income by up to 30% at 380 data; Bon's food buffs raise the enemy cash drop rate while he buffs the team. Both sit on Ground slots.
Hill placements in the tracked data are Vegita and Itsoda, both carrying the hill / air job. Every other unit with a settled placement here is Ground, so a hill slot is the scarce one to fill.
"Hybrid" is community wording for a unit that fits both a ground and a hill slot. This site stores placement as Ground, Hill, Both, or Unknown, so Both is where a hybrid unit would land. Unknown means the tracked public sources have not settled the placement yet, not that the unit cannot be placed.
The game does not publish its own definitions for these categories, so the mapping above follows the role labels and placements tracked on this page rather than an official taxonomy. No income formula or Gems-per-stage table is public either — an income percentage is not a Gem drop rate, and "best money unit" depends on the mode you repeat and the units you own. Watch the in-run money counter and your own ending Gem balance, then compare that farm loop on the Gem farming guide against the units you already have in the full roster.
Heaven Splitter hits 500% damage at 3x range; both public tier lists place him at the very top.
Only launch unit that seals a boss (Coffin Trap, 7s); crits permanently grow his range.
Copies up to four active abilities from other units — the most flexible Secret.
Food grants damage/cooldown/range buffs and boosts enemy money drops; top agreement Mythic.
Kills become Training Data, up to +30% income per wave; both sites call her the primary farm pick.
A dedicated nuke most Mythics lack, per Beebom; PGG still evaluating.
Strong boss damage with Neutral typing; cannot receive buffs.
Nine-Tails' Cloak windows spike damage, cooldown, and range for 20s.
Strong Hill unit that gains increased attack with a Goku-line unit nearby.
Infinity nullifies approaching attacks and slows lingerers; sources split B vs S+ on utility vs DPS contribution.
The only Exclusive unit at launch; both sites are still evaluating exact in-match mechanics.
Full AoE that hits harder as enemies lose health.
Stacks combat buffs through Oppressing aura.
Gains damage as enemies travel farther — fits extended story paths.
Strong damage that scales against weakened enemies.
Raises his own damage; pairs with the Meliodas line.
Charged Blood Cut volleys apply bleed on non-boss waves; suited for Rift attrition.
Commandments rotate every 10s; Patience trades +150% damage for slower cooldowns.
Fighting Spirit stacks damage and crit for boss encounters; sources disagree on ramp pace.
Idle time converts to permanent range, then damage — Beebom's standout Legendary pick.

These units exist but their kits are undocumented or identities conflict between sources.
These are two launch-week community tier lists this page cross-checks. Watch them here to compare their reasoning without leaving the page.
Filter by the job you need done, not by rarity hype. "Beginner" means accessible value early, "Farming" means income and wave clear, "Bossing" means burst and control where it matters. Green labels mean both public tier lists agree; amber means they disagree and we show both. Secret units glow on this site for a reason — they are rare, not automatically right for your comp.
The three Secrets — Madaro, Valcrad and Cursed Lover — are the consensus top picks. Among Mythics, Bon (support) and Bluma (farming) have the strongest agreement between public tier lists.
Sobaru & Beti, Rainu Marto, Shali, Emmy, Jolius, and Prisla are listed on the tier list with an 'Unprofiled' label. Because their damage scaling, targeting cones, and exact placements are not yet settled across public logs, we do not guess tier letters or make up stats until verified.
ProGameGuides puts Goju in B because his damage output is still unknown, while Beebom puts him in S+ for his utility (nullify + slow). We show both placements and rank him as a support — his value depends on your comp.
One AoE carry for waves, Bluma for income, and Itsoda on a hill. The team-combo section below lists three full sample comps.
Both phrases usually mean income: units that raise the money available inside a run. Bluma converts kills into Training Data for up to +30% per-wave income at 380 data, and Bon adds an enemy cash-drop multiplier through his food buffs. Neither one adds Gems directly, so measure the ending Gem balance instead of reading the in-run percentage as a drop rate.
Hill units are placed on hill slots; Vegita and Itsoda are the Hill placements tracked here, both with a hill / air job. "Hybrid" is community wording for a unit that fits both a ground and a hill slot — this site stores placement as Ground, Hill, Both, or Unknown, so a hybrid unit would be Both. Unknown placement means the public sources tracked here have not settled it, not that the unit cannot be placed.
No official income formula is published, so exact per-second totals cannot be compared from public material. Bluma is the tracked farming pick for long runs and Bon combines a cash-drop multiplier with team buffs. Which one earns more in your run depends on the stage, wave count, and unit levels — read the money counter during your own attempts.
The game launched August 14 and public tier lists already disagree on 15 units. Role labels (bossing, farming, support) stay useful while exact letters would be guesses dressed up as fact.
